Game Genre: Biphase, created by a group of college students from different universities, is a 2D platformer that combines jumping mechanics with exploration and puzzles at its core.

Our Vision: Through the portrayal of an "individual" within a group, our aim with this game is to offer a realistic and nuanced representation of the challenges faced by individuals with bipolar disorder. By shedding light on this illness, we seek to foster understanding and empathy among players towards those affected by bipolar disorder.

Abstract Narrative: The narrative of Biphase draws inspiration from real-life scenarios surrounding the player, focusing on a protagonist grappling with bipolar disorder as they navigate through an abstract world painted with red and black mental imagery in search of an exit.

Puzzle Levels: The game's level design serves as a metaphor for the complexities of bipolar disorder. The stark contrasts of red and black within the gameplay symbolize the "manic" and "depressive" poles of the disorder, reflecting the emotional dichotomy experienced by individuals affected by this condition.

Gameplay Mechanics: Players guide the protagonist through levels by moving horizontally, jumping, and interacting with switches to alternate between red and black backgrounds. Interactions with scene elements change based on the background color, emphasizing the shifting emotional states represented in the game.
